The mind can work wonders.
Playing my first tournament for 2010 was a real struggle with a broken rib sustained in a car accident on Boxing Day. Also, I’d only trained for 1-2 hours since mid Dec ’09.
It was very hot and humid and my body was a mess. My mind, however, was not going to let this become a missed opportunity.
Every point was played with the purpose of building pressure on my younger, fitter but less experienced opponents.
In the end, I approached every point mentally to outsmart, outwit and convincingly defeat the younger generation players.
Does anyone else have a similar story to tell?
Or are there any younger players that this has happened to?
